Personnel use the paperless method to receive shipments. Receivers use handheld RF terminals to direct them through the receipt of a shipment. Receivers can start the receipt of a shipment or PO, change to another shipment or PO, and then return to the first shipment or PO. Multiple receivers can receive a shipment or PO simultaneously. A maximum of one item can be associated with a single license plate number (LPN). For putaway purposes, multiple single-SKU LPNs may be associated with a master LPN on a single pallet. Each LPN that is received is given a 'pending putaway' lock code. his lock code is automatically removed on putaway to make the inventory available for allocation in the host system. As a back up to the paperless receiving process, the receivers have the option to use the bill of lading and/or packing slip and the system-generated Receiving Document. This needs to be with Supervisor approval. Receivers also have the ability to print a Repalletization Report. This report lists all items on a particular shipment/PO where the standard vendor TI x HI does not match the standard warehouse TI x HI.

Process Narrative |

In addition to inspecting incorrect and damaged product, the warehouse management system uses a Quality Inspection Table to determine the amount of product that must be diverted to Quality Assurance upon receipt. Each entry in the Quality Inspection Table specifies a vendor, SKU, and PO combination, allowing a wildcard in any or all of these fields. Different vendors can have different audit requirements. As vendor performance improves, users may adjust audit requirements to reflect the quality of service. When the Quality Inspection Table is processed, the system tries to find a match of the vendor / SKU / PO combination. If a match is found, the system flags that PO and item for inspection during receiving.
